Copyright Statement: Fair Dealing (Canada) and Fair Use (U.S.)

Dear Designer is committed to the lawful and ethical use of visual materials in accordance with the Copyright Act of Canada (R.S.C., 1985, c. C-42). The images featured on this site are sourced from one of the following:
• Public domain repositories, where copyright has expired or does not apply;
• Original works created by the publisher; or
• Licensed materials from third parties, used with explicit permission.
In some instances, Dear Designer may rely on the principle of fair dealing, as outlined in Sections 29, 29.1, and 29.2 of the Copyright Act, which permits the use of copyrighted material for the purposes of criticism, review, news reporting, education, parody, or satire without the need for prior authorization. Every effort is made to ensure that such use meets the required legal thresholds, including proper attribution where applicable.
If you are a copyright holder and believe that any material has been used in a manner inconsistent with fair dealing, please contact Andrew Boardman at andrew@manoverboard.com with a detailed request for review, and we will assess the matter promptly.
Our intent is to engage in responsible discourse on design while respecting the intellectual property rights of artists, designers, and content creators.
